From Music to Market: Why I Wrote This Book on Music Marketing for Independent Artists

Over the course of my career as an independent musician, I have had to learn the business of music the hard way — through trial, error, and years of figuring out what actually works. I made mistakes. I wasted money. I missed opportunities. And eventually, I began to understand how to reach people with my music in a meaningful, sustainable way.

I wrote From Music to Market because I wished a book like this had existed when I was starting out. I wanted to create an honest, practical guide that speaks directly to the independent artist — not in corporate jargon, but in the language of someone who has lived this life.

The book covers everything from building an audience to navigating streaming platforms, from social media strategy to licensing and sync, from email marketing to the mindset required to sustain a creative career over the long term.

But more than tactics, the book is about philosophy — about understanding why you make music, who you are making it for, and how to stay true to your artistic voice while still building a viable career.

I believe deeply that independent artists deserve better tools, better information, and more honest guidance. This book is my contribution to that cause. I hope it helps.
